More great games in the NHL this week!
With the teams fresh off the all-star break there was lots of action
BLUES 5 – 2 SENATORS
Big win (5-2) for the Blues against the Senators!
The Blues scored 5 goals thanks to Schenn, Thomas, Sundqvist and a double from Tarasenko !
On the Senators side, Stutzle and Kelly managed to reduce a gap that was way too big!
The Ottawa Senators will have to get back to winning ways soon!
PENGUINS 5 – 4 FLYERS
Victory for the Pittsburgh Penguins (5-4) against the Philadelphia Flyers!
The Penguins, thanks to goals from Crosby, Simon, Letang, Ruhwedel and Guentzel, were able to defeat the Flyers who fought hard.
On the Flyers side, Giroux, Laughton, Seeler and Braun tried to get a draw, in vain. Penguins win against Flyers in a very close game!
SABRES 6 – 3 ISLANDERS
Big win for the Sabres (6-3) against the Islanders!
Kyle Palmieri opened the scoring for the Islanders in the first period
Lee in the second period and again Palmiere in the last period…but it wasn’t enough.
On the Sabres side, Okpose, Thompson, Tuch, Olofsson twice and Jokiharju scored
LIGHTNING 6 – 3 DEVILS
Big Win (6-3) for the Tampa Bay Lightning against the New Jersey Devils!
The Lightning were down 2-1 in the first period.
Stamkos, Bellemare, Killorn, Hedman and Kucherov all scored to lift the LightningWhat a show of strength and character from the Tampa Bay Lightning!
RANGERS 2 – 1 BRUINS
Short victory (2-1) for the New York Bruins against the Washington Bruins!
However, the Bruins were leading 1-0 thanks to Coyle in the first period!
It’s only in the third period that the Rangers managed to catch up and beat the Bruins thanks to Chytil!
CAPITALS 4 – 1 PREDATORS
Big win for the Washington Capitals (4-1) against the Nashville Predators!
On the Capitals side goals came from Snivelyscored in the first, , Jensen and a pairfrom Ovechkin in the third period McCarron scored one for the Predators in the third but the Capitals walked away with the two points
FLAMES 6 – 2 BLUE JACKETS
Huge win for the Calgary Flames (6-2) against the Columbus Blue Jackets!
On the Columbus side, Boqvist and Werenski scored the two goals, one in the first period and the second in the last period.
The show on the Flames side was provided by Gudbranson, Lindholm, Tkachuk, Dube, Ruzicka and Toffoli who all scored a goal each!
STARS 4 – 1 AVALANCHE
The Stars beat (4-1) the Avalanche ! Pavelski led the Stars by scoring twice and Seguin and Robertson helped increase the lead.
On the Avalanche side, MacKinnon reduced the gap in the second period but they couldn’t get anything else going. The Dallas Stars secured their victory by their superiority.
Stars win (4-1) against the Avalanche who will have to do better in a few days!
OILERS 5 – 2 KINGS
Los Angeles Kings defeat (5-2) against the Edmonton Oilers!
In the first period, the Kings were leading through Kaliyev.
The Oilers offense came alive in the second and third period and scored 5 goals.
Danault was only able to reduce the score but the damage was done, the Oilers walked away with the two points.
